California Proposition 65 Compliance Statement

Crossroad Distributor Source
Effective: May 2025

1.0 Proposition 65 Overview

Formally titled the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, California Proposition 65 was enacted to help California residents make informed decisions about their exposure to certain chemicals. The law requires businesses to provide clear and reasonable warnings about significant exposures to chemicals identified by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

2.0 Crossroad Compliance

2.1 Under Proposition 65, companies conducting business in California must provide warnings when their products expose individuals to chemicals listed by OEHHA. However, this requirement does not apply when exposure levels are determined to be below the established “safe harbor” levels — meaning the exposure poses no significant risk of cancer or is well below levels known to cause birth defects or reproductive harm.

2.2 Crossroad Distributor Source regularly reviews product formulations and supplier material declarations against the current Proposition 65 list to ensure compliance.

2.3 Based on this review, the majority of Crossroad Distributor Source products do not contain any chemicals listed under Proposition 65. In limited cases where certain materials or finishes may contain listed substances, the exposure levels are below safe harbor limits and therefore do not require a Proposition 65 warning.

2.4 In the interest of transparency, the following materials may contain chemicals identified under Proposition 65 when specifically requested by customers:

  • Cadmium Plating – Offered only by special request. Cadmium is listed under Proposition 65 as a substance known to cause cancer and reproductive toxicity.
  • Dyed Inserts – Certain dyes or solvents may contain trace levels of ethylbenzene, a Proposition 65-listed chemical known to cause cancer.
  • Phosphor Bronze Inserts – Contain lead as an alloying element. Lead is listed as a substance known to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm.

2.5 Crossroad Distributor Source ensures that all such products comply with applicable federal and state safety requirements and that potential exposures are below established safe harbor levels.
